Abstract :
The paper describes a channel selecting module which singles out a 72 or a 288 Mbit/s channel from a 1.152 Gbit/s bit interleaved data stream. Additionally, the circuit provides the possibility of microprocessor controlled adjustment of the data scanning instant. Future optical television (TV) distributing systems with a high-definition television (HDTV) option may be considered as the main field of application of this type of channel selector.
