Abstract
Weakly minimax universal codes for composite sources whose channel analog has asymptotically decreasing input memory and anticipation (ADIMA) are examined. In particular, weak universal codes of all rates with respect to an arbitrary distortion measure are shown to exist for ADIMA composite sources when the switch processes belong to a
-compact class. These results are immediately applicable to universal coding for classes of remote sources.
