  • Abstract
The types of tasks for which robots are used in laboratories are identified. Two specific types of laboratory robotic systems currently in use at Los Alamos are described. One is a plutonium dissolution system. The other, dubbed ROBOCAL, loosely stands for robotic calorimetry and gamma isotopic system. Both applications involve the handling of hazardous materials
