  • Abstract
International competition has had a dramatic effect on heavy industry and its priorities. The new emphasis on product quality, cost reduction, pollution control, and redefined products has directly impacted electrical power systems designed in earlier eras to meet other needs. The author outlines methods and considerations for affecting a smooth and reliable transition to the future. The results of a low-voltage breaker high-current test survey conducted to investigate trip unit reliability are also presented
