Abstract
The static and dynamic remanence curves of particulate media were studied experimentally in order to clarify the effect of interparticle interactions. The technique is based on a comparison of the remanence curves using as a guide relations derived by consideration of the switching field distribution. Measurements were made using a vibrating-sample magnetometer on samples of tape containing γ-Fe 2O3 particles. The results show a strong dependence of magnetization reversal on the magnetic state, which is consistent with the effects of interactions
