Abstract
The paper considers a novel approach to simultaneous calculation of the adjustable parameters of all the stabilisers in a multimachine power system to obtain the best dynamic performance. The parameter optimisation problem is based on an eigenvalue assignment formulation, and an algorithm enabling the needed shift of dominant system modes is presented. The proposed algorithm is used to set gains of two stabilisers in a three-machine low damped power system.
