Abstract :
Using photomasks with the same resolution as for conventional transducers, it is shown that a 2-layer interdigital transducer doubles the operating frequency of acoustic-surface-wave devices, at the sacrifice of some increase in conversion loss. The origin of the increased loss is attributed to a geometrical factor and a dielectric loss in the insulating layer.
