Abstract :
A novel scheme is presented for obtaining binary levels of arbitrary phase shift based on a commercially available ferroelectric liquid crystal spatial light modulator (FLCSLM) and appropriate polarisation optics. The performance is reported of a programmable two-stage cascaded device giving four states of equal magnitude with phases in quadrature.
