Abstract :
The general theory for transmission in a circular tunnel containing a thin axial conductor is employed to calculate the attenuation rate of the propagating mode. The remarkable property is that the attenuation rate is approximately pro-portional to frequency and it does not depend critically on the wall conductivity for typical conditions.
