Abstract :
In this paper, the author seeks to perform an online measurement of the electrodes impedances in an electromagnetic flowmeter that could be covered by coatings or not. This online measurement of the electrode impedances determine the magnitude and phase of impedance changes during the operation of the flowmeter. This means that it is possible to assess the accuracy of lumped element models for the measuring cell of the flowmeter. In addition, these measurements are useful to determine the lower frequency limit above which the reading of the induced voltage level of the electromagnetic flowmeter can be carried out with a sufficient signal-to-noise ratio and are useful as well to determine the required input impedance of the preamplifier in the working frequency range
