Abstract :
The performance of a direct-sequence spread-spectrum communication system is analysed with emphasis on the probability of error, taking into account the bandwidth limitation introduced by the transmission channel. A detailed analysis of the asymptotic behaviour of the error probability for large values of the spreading ratio is carried out. The related approximate expression is rather simple and the results obtained accordingly are in very good agreement with the exact ones, for all spreading ratios of practical interest. Therefore, the analytical approach developed offers an effective method for the evaluation of the relevant performance of bandpass spread-spectrum systems.
