Abstract :
We have experimentally demonstrated how to realize clock recovery for the preamble free label and payload generated by optical carrier suppression and separation (OCSS) technique. A continuous clock information is always added to the burst-mode optical label or payload generated by OCSS technique at the transmission node. Therefore, we can use a conventional receiver containing a high Q filter to extract the clock at the receiving node. The extracted clock can be used to synchronize the burst-mode label or payload. Our experimental results show that the extracted clock exhibits small jitter, which can be used for synchronizing and detecting the preamble free label and payload in burst-mode.
