Abstract :
The method allows easy and highly accurate measurements of microwave resonator parameters. By using superconducting resonators, the loss tangent of polyethylene at 2.2 K and 6.5 GHz was found to be the lowest of any solid so far measured: tan ¿ = 3.7 à 10¿7 ± 7%.
