Abstract :
A new method of timing jitter measurement is presented which yields a precise measurement of the jitter in a digital symbol stream on a symbol-by-symbol basis. It has a measurement precision of the order of 1 ps with current technology, and is therefore particularly applicable to very high-speed systems (to more than 100 Mbit/s).
