Abstract :
This brief suggests a modified approach to the discrete-time analysis of fixed frequency switch-mode dc-dc converters. The method presented here is based on the formulation of a nonlinear difference equation with respect to the duty cycle, which describes the closed-loop behavior of the system considered. The difference equation allows the complete examination of the system´s steady state during normal operation, as well as in the case where subharmonic oscillations or chaos are developed.
