Abstract :
A variational method of the analysis is described for the broadside-coupled striplines of unequal width. A compliance matrix is introduced for the unsymmetrical structure, and variational expressions are derived for the matrix elements for the first time. This method is applicable to the case with uniaxially anisotropic media, and it gives the transformation from the anisotropic to the equivalent isotropic problem. Numerical examples are obtained by using the Ritz procedure. Characteristics of this structure are influenced considerably by the configuration of line conductors.
