Abstract :
The letter considers the design of an active distributed RC network to approximate to the magnitude characteristic of an all-pole lowpass filter transfer function. The limitations of the dominant-pole method are examined and it is shown that this method can lead to significant errors for filters with equiripple passband characteristics. A method is described and design curves are given to improve the approximation.
