Two electrical book collections: The ronalds and thompson libraries

Two fine rare book collections on electricity and magnetism in the IEE are described in the paper. The Sir Francis Ronalds collection of 2000 books and 4000 pamphlets was acquired in 1876, while the S.P. Thompson collection of 900 rare books and 2500 nineteenth and early twentieth century titles was acquired in 1917. A small collection of 200 autograph letters was filed in Thompson´s nineteenth and twentieth century books.
