Abstract
A linearized solution for a series cascade of three Mach Zehnder interferometers separated by directional couplers is obtained that eliminates both the third and fifth order coefficients of the Taylor series representation of the transfer function. The device is characterized in terms of harmonic distortion with a three tone signal. ~20-dB improvement in third harmonic distortion is obtained compared to a two section device
