Abstract :
A design is presented in which a 24-bit sigma-delta ADC (analogue-digital converter) is combined with an Intel 8032 supervising microcontroller and a tuned zero-crossing detector to give a relatively simple and economical circuit that adapts to local line supply frequencies to maintain very high levels (>150 dB) of interference rejection. The design is particularly applicable to industrial sensors, including thermocouples, load cells, ion-selective and pH electrodes, and chromatographic detectors.<>
