Abstract :
The physical aspects of X-ray transmission computed-tomography scanners are reviewed with particular emphasis on X-ray sources and detectors. Physical aspects have been interpreted widely to embrace the choice and specification of imaging geometry and corresponding reconstruction theory. The review pertains to both commercial production machines and special-purpose (generally one-off) developments.
