Abstract
The noise performance of multiport networks of arbitrary topology is treated using wave analysis. This approach has advantages over other methods when using computer-aided design programs that are based on scattering parameters. In this paper we discuss the wave representation of noise in two-ports and passive multiports. We indicate bow to compute the noise performance of an arbitrary network and we demonstrate the effectiveness of this approach with an example.
