  • Abstract
    Symmetry groups of waveguides with anisotropic materials are described with examples taken from common configurations in ferrite waveguides. When the symmetry group of the waveguide cross-section is known, group theoretical techniques can be used to determine the symmetry characteristics of the modes. Knowledge of these symmetry properties is useful for the classification and numerical calculation of modes.<>
