Abstract :
A broadband microstrip patch concept is presented. Fed using electromagnetic coupling, but over a single layer of dielectric substrate, this simple mechanical structure permits antenna applications in structurally and thermally severe environments. One S-band application is presented for such elementary patch and for a cylindrical ´belt´ microstrip antenna of omnidirectional pattern built around this elementary principle.<>
