Abstract :
Results are presented for a new form of eddy-current suspension that is analogous to the recently reported diamagnetic systems. A simple measure of the effectiveness of the eddy currents is developed and compared with experiment. Arrangements proven to extend the useful range of the suspension and to facilitate open-loop control are described.
