Abstract
A description is given of the algorithm used for high-speed rendering of color-shaded, three-dimensional images on a raster display terminal currently under development. This terminal features: a depth buffer for hidden surface removal; a processing speed of 10000 polygons per second; smooth shading; antialiasing; subpixel addressability and subpixel detail; transparency; local segment memory; local viewing transformation; a nondestructive 3-D cursor; a cutting plane that works at any angle; and contouring.
