Abstract :
At high speed there are single pulses of current in the windings of a switched reluctance motor. A statistical analysis of current data shows that simple mathematical models describe current as a function of rotor position. Peak values of current are shown to vary with the inverse of rotor speed when the two control angles have constant values.
