Abstract :
A 510-pixel (H)×492-pixel (V) IT (interline transfer) CCD (charge coupled device) with 3.65-mm (H)×2.73-mm (V) image area, corresponding to a 1/4-in optical format, has been developed. The basic characteristics of this CCD are better than or equal to those of the conventional 1/3-in 250 k CCD. Simplifying the driving circuit (54% of the components of the conventional CCD) and shrinking the package (70% of the size of the conventional CCD) makes possible the downsizing of a camera system
