Abstract :
A novel optical image stabilizer was implemented on a consumer video camera. Novel feedback servo techniques were developed in order to control the nonlinear, unstable, variable fluid prism. As a result better frequency response was achieved. The system has the following features: (1) maintenance of picture resolution and (2) compensation for the fluctuation in optically zoomed pictures. When the new servo techniques are used, the prism´s control is stable regardless of the prism´s position and the temperature. These new techniques made it possible to develop an optical image stabilizing system whose stabilization rate is good
