Abstract :
A real-time digital car audio system which uses digital signal processing algorithms for frequency response equalization, stereo image adjustment, dynamic range compression, and surround processing is described. This digital car audio system can be used to compensate degradation in sound quality caused by the acoustic environment and background noise. A significant improvement in the quality and sound reproduction in cars can thus be achieved. The hardware and software of the system are described
