  • Abstract
Sintered PrCo5-based permanent magnets with energy products up to 25 MGOe and Hci>15 kOe were produced using single alloy compositions. The structural changes occurring at different stages of magnet fabrication, from the starting alloy to the finished magnet, were investigated systematically and correlated with the observed magnetic properties. Depending on the sintering temperature used, two different sintering mechanisms were found to be operative in this system. The optimal microstructures conducive to obtaining good permanent magnet properties were identified
