Abstract :
The main purpose of this letter is to show that measurement of length is an interesting tool to characterize band-limited signals. We show the link between the length of a signal and that of the complex instantaneous frequency (CIF), and we propose original-length and instantaneous frequency estimators which we illustrate by examples.
