Abstract :
Measurements are presented of the performance of the multi-strip coupler for X-direction propagating acoustic waves on 36° rotated Y-cut lithium tantalate. The predominant launched and coupled mode is the surface-skimming bulk wave. The coupler shows excellent discrimination against other modes. The maximum power transfer ratio is limited to approximately 4:1 and the strengths of transmitted symmetric and antisymmetric modes are found to be unequal.
