  • Abstract
    A suggestion is presented for increasing the down-link capacity in a satellite communication system by using a regenerative satellite repeater. This idea is based on Shannon´s work on the capacity of two-way communication channels. A possible implementation of the idea is outlined, based on TDMA operation, demodulation and storage at the satellite, and modulo 2 addition of the baseband binary streams.
