Abstract
An advanced screen detector is proposed as a tool for selecting the reference object used in movement estimation of a hand-held pointing device. The system applies the fuzzy rules to the selected pairs of line segments of input images in order to find the peripheral framework of the screen. The proposed technique is applicable to various pointing devices detecting the monitor display.
