Abstract :
This work analyzes the use of different types of finite elements (Lagrange, hierarchic, and Hermite) in order to improve the calculation accuracy when they are submitted to distortion due to the movement. The moving band technique is used with different elements in thin air gap machines. Results are shown for comparing the performance of Lagrange, hierarchic, and Hermite elements.
