Abstract
Although the use of intelligent agents for information discovery in networks and distributed systems is becoming more prevalent, one class of information discovery problems still poses difficulties not easily overcome by conventional methods. This class is characterized by high volumes of rapidly changing data and low communication band-width among network nodes. To solve such problems, we have developed an intelligent agent that travels to network nodes in search of data and carries instructions to task agents on local nodes that are experts on the data stored at their node
