Abstract :
A low noise optical receiver for SCM-CATV systems is described which uses discrete, commercial devices. By using a symmetrical resonance tuned input configuration, the equivalent input noise current spectral density, measured according to an accurate method, is less than 3 pa/ square root Hz in the frequency range 1-800 MHz.
