Abstract :
In the computation of eddy current fields with edge elements it is known that the numerical stability can be rather inferior for the A*-formulation, in comparison to that of the A, v-formulation. In this paper, the differences of the two formulations with regard to the convergence of an iterative solver will be pointed out. The result is a suggestion about a new preconditioner for the conjugate gradient method.
