  • Abstract
    A simple and accurate self-centring method of mounting a microsphere coupling lens on a fibre endface is described. In over 85% of cases tried, the lenses were centred on the fibre axis to within 3 ¿m. The lenses yield a laser-fibre coupling efficiency of about 65%.
