Abstract :
Kineo computer aided motion (CAM) is a start-up company that develops and markets software technologies dedicated to motion planning and control and destined for the industrial domain of product lifecycle management (PLM). In addition to this product strategy, Kineo CAM´s expertise covers various domains ranging from medical robotics to transportation via graphics. This article gives an account of the different phases of the product design from the seminal research conducted at LAAS-CNRS, the company´s creator, during the 1990s to the first success stories of treating difficult industrial problems
