  • Abstract
    The construction of a fast low-powered one-pole two-way optical fibre switch is described. It has a measured insertion loss of 0.43 dB, or 0.04 dB with index matching fluid, and a crosstalk below ¿75 dB. Switch power is 0.6 mJ with a total switching time of 2 ms The time to switch from one fibre output to another is 0.4 ms.
