Abstract :
The origin of polarization phenomena occurring in amorphous polymers has been investigated, using dielectric dynamic spectroscopy and thermo stimulated current analysis. Linear polymers, e.g. poly(methyl methacrylates) and poly(ethyl methacrylates), show a molecular mobility which is increasingly delocalised along the backbone with increasing temperature. Dendrimers with a phosphorus core and increasingly complex radial branches showed a hierarchy of molecular mobility as a function of generation.
