Abstract :
A simple mathmatical model for calculating the contact force at the entrance of the main slot for a slotted beam connector is presented. The effect of lead slot, which leads the wire into the main slot, on the entry contact force is discussed. Results from the analysis are compared with test data. Considering the various approximations involved in the analysis, the two data compare favorably.
