Abstract :
The performance of a frame-synchronisation technique for use with binary data transmission is analysed on the binary symmetric channel. Although the binary symmetric channel is an idealised channel, it can be used to represent a space channel or any data link to which a message-interleaving or diffusion scheme has been applied.
