Abstract
An experimental study of the inverse Wiedemann effect in
iron whiskers has been made. The simplicity of this type of sample allows a theoretical prediction of the I. W. E The preferred direction of the magnetization as a function of the applied torsional strain has been obtained. The experimental results obtained by measuring the longitudinal magnetization of twisted whiskers, when the applied circular field is removed, are in good agreement with the theoretical model, if the applied field is strong enough to produce circular saturation of the sample.
