Abstract
Saturation magnetization (Ms ), Curie temperature (Tc ) and easy direction of magnetization have been measured on Yb2 Co17-x Fex , Er2 Co17-x Mx (M = Fe, Mn, Ni), Nd2 Co17-x Alx and Sm2 Co17-x Alx compounds. The Tc and Ms vary in a similar manner for all the compounds investigated. Anisotropy field variation also shows a similar trend. It is proposed that the observed variations can be used as a guide for future experiments on the substituted R2 Co17 compounds.
