Abstract :
Analog recording experiments on MnBi films in which an analog voltage is converted into the length of each bit are described. The experiments show that analog quantities are easily recorded on MnBi films in this manner. An analysis of the laser recording process for the moving beam and stationary medium case is described. The result of the analysis shows that demagnetizing field causes parts of a bit unswitched while recording proceeds.
