Abstract :
The calculated results of the electromagnetic scattering by flush-buried objects situated in an air-ground interface are experimentally verified. The field is that at a short distance above the interface. The objects are a metal disk and a dielectric cylinder of finite dimensions. The experimental set-up and measurement procedures are described. A comparison of calculated and measured results is presented for the frequency range 500 to 1000 MHz for a soil of 20% wetness
