Abstract :
A numerical simulation is made of the phenomenon of the lift of a slider resting on a disk. The problem expressed in mathematical equations takes into account the molecular mean free path of the gas and the phenomena of impact and shocks. We assume that initially, because of the roughness of the disk´s surface, there is an infinitely narrow cushion of air beneath the slider. The results showing the slider´s dynamic behaviour will be set out at the end of this paper.
